Application Tips

This area helps to explain the application process and some hints on how to approach your interview

Application Process

So you are wanting to work for CIBO, but don’t know where to start?

Please find below the recruitment process:

  1. Apply for a job – hand in your resume in store or online
  2. CIBO gets in contact – so they can learn more about you
  3. Face to Face interview – with a manager in store
  4. Reference Checks – manager will contact your references
  5. You got the Job! – if you are successful you will contacted and offered a role. If you are unsuccessful you will be called and informed.

Due to the high number of applications we receive we cannot personally respond to every application!

Training

At CIBO you will receive online and in store training – the online training covers information on our brand, the roles in store, cash handling and OH&S requirements. In store you will be trained in how to master every station in store, so you will learn everything from how to best serve our customers and most importantly how to make an incredible coffee! You will also have the opportunity to be up skilled to a Team Leader level and learn more about opening/closing a store and managing a team.

Interview Tips & Tricks

Learn about us

Do some research on our company: when did we start? What products do we sell? What is your favourite item? By researching CIBO you will learn more about us and what we do and it will help you answer questions about the brand and give you extra confidence going in.

Practise Makes Perfect

Practise some basic interview questions with a friend or family member. As they say practise makes perfect!

Dress for Success

Dress smart casual for your interview (no suit needed). Make sure that your appearance is neat and tidy and your clothes are clean and ironed. This will show us that you have taken the time and effort for your interview.

Be on Time

Research where you need to go for your interview and how long it will take to get there. Try and arrive 5 minutes early and if you are running late – give the person a quick call and let them know.

Smile – It’s just like meeting a new friend

Interviews don’t have to be scary, just pretend you are meeting a new friend. Instead of wanting to know your favourite band or movie, we want to know about your previous work experience and extracurricular activities. So smile and answer the answer confidently and you will be fine.

Ask Questions

This is the time for you to ask anything you might want to know about the job, the store or our company. We will answer everything we can for you, as you are also interviewing us to see if this is the right place for you.

Information for Parents

So your son or daughter has decided they want to join our CIBO team to get some real life skills, earn extra money, meet new people and most importantly learn how to make a great coffee. As a parent, you’ll want to know what this will mean for your son or daughter and how it will fit in with their school and sport or social activities.

Will working for CIBO affect their studies?

At CIBO school comes first. We’re flexible around working hours so we can accommodate time off for exams, extracurricular school activities, sports and other events. Hours for our school age employees are managed so that they don’t clash with their school timetable.

Will they be looked after at CIBO?

At CIBO we promote an inclusive and supportive working environment, and one where everyone is encouraged to look out for each other. We support fair pay, safe working conditions and Equal Employment Opportunities at CIBO. We also provide training to ensure your child is safe at work at all times. It is important to us that you understand our total commitment to your son or daughter’s safety and wellbeing whilst at work.

What about training and future career prospects?

Many of our team initially join us with the view that this is “just a job to make some extra cash”. However, the longer they stay the more they realise there are some great career opportunities on offer. As a team member, they will cross-train within the store so that they continually learn new skills. These skills will not only benefit them at work, but will also give them skills for life.

From here, the prospects are endless. A number of our Store and Assistant Managers started out as Team Members.
